Land cover and forest formation map for Mona Island, Puerto Rico, developed from Landsat 7 ETM+ imagery
Purpose:
Developed for Puerto rico-wide assessments of land cover with a classification scheme that is consistent with the land cover and forest formation map for Puerto Rico, Vieques and Culebra that was published in the following manuscript:
Kennaway, T., and Helmer, E.H. 2007. The Forest Types and Ages Cleared for Land Development in Puerto Rico. GIScience and Remote Sensing 44(4):356-382.
The classification scheme is consistent with the following files:
1. Puerto Rico, Vieques and Culebra: IITF_GISciRS44_puertorico_landcov2000.img
2. US and British Virgin Islands: IITF_JRS02_usbvi_landcov2.img (the more detailed classification scheme for the Virgin Islands is in the following file: IITF_JRS02_usbvi_landcov1.img
